Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can anyone use this service or is it only limited to elderly and homebound?

I focus on caring for people who can’t easily get to a dental office. That often includes seniors, home-bound patients, residents in assisted-living or nursing facilities, and anyone with medical or physical conditions that make travel difficult. We also serve individuals who have mental-health challenges—like severe anxiety or other conditions—that prevent them from comfortably receiving care in a traditional office.

If someone can easily visit a dental office, they typically wouldn’t qualify for in-home care under California’s RDHAP guidelines. I’m always happy to chat and see if our mobile services are the right fit.

2. Do you accept insurance?

At this time, my services are fee-for-service, which means I don’t bill insurance directly. I can provide you with a detailed receipt (a ‘superbill’) that you can submit to your dental or medical insurance for possible reimbursement, depending on your plan’s out-of-network benefits.

3. Do I also need to see a dentist? How does the dentist fit into this?

You’ll still need a dentist as part of your ongoing care. As an RDHAP, I can provide cleanings, preventive care, and even take dental X-rays right in your home.

California law requires that every 18 months you have a written prescription from a dentist or physician for me to continue your home-care hygiene services. That prescription is simply a form that confirms you’re under a dentist’s or doctor’s oversight. If you don’t already have a dentist, I can help you connect with one to keep everything compliant and seamless.

4. Do you bring a chair or do I need to provide a place to sit? If so, what type of seating arrangement is needed?

I always provide treatment wherever the patient feels most comfortable—whether that’s in their own bed, their wheelchair, or their favorite recliner. I can bring a portable dental chair if the patient is able to transfer safely and if that position would make treatment easier, but most of the time I work right where the patient prefers to sit or rest.

5. How do I prepare for my appointment?

  1. Before your appointment: I’ll send a secure electronic form to fill out. This will ask for the patient's contact information, medical history, current medications, and a reference contact person I can reach out to if needed regarding their care.

  2. Easy upload: Once completed, the form will automatically upload to the patient chart—so there’s no paperwork to bring to the visit.

  3. Payment information: I’ll collect payment details ahead of time, but it will only be charged once your treatment is completed.

  4. Day of your visit: I’ll arrive with all the equipment I need and set up wherever the patient is most comfortable—thier chair, bed, wheelchair, or recliner.

This way, your first visit is organized, safe, and focused entirely on your care
